2021 Calendar

Provisional calendars have been published for the 2021 race season, and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever before as McKee Motorsport takes on more than two full seasons of racing.

The venerable E36 will not only return to our spiritual home, 750 Motor Club’s Roadsports Series, but also contest the full MSVT Trackday Championship for the very first time.

We’re delighted to announce that Daryl Bennett will be our new driver for Roadsports, driving alongside Sam for four of the classic 45-minute races.

Daryl’s first circuit-driving experience came in the E36 on a track day at Snetterton in August 2020, and in 2021 he will add his name to the long list of motor racing débuts made in this car. His first season doesn’t lack for ambition – with a novice cross still on the bumper, he’ll round out the year with an entry to the biggest championship in the country: 750MC Club Enduro, for a two-hour race at Oulton Park.

The E36’s stellar record in Roadsports and Club Enduro, with no fewer than nine podium finishes and three class wins, sets Daryl up for a fantastic start to his racing career. Let’s see what he can do!

In MSV’s paddock, Rob Dowsett will be the name to watch. Having driven the E36 to third overall in both of his first races in the 2020 MSVT Trackday Trophy, he now joins Sam to shoot for the big prize in 2021.

Racing in the top class of 175bhp/ton cars, we’ll fight for outright victory over a season of six 45-minute races in MSV’s Trackday Championship, with Rob and Sam sharing the driving in each outing at some of the country’s very finest circuits.

“Rob made a searing début in circuit racing at Oulton Park this August, where we finished third overall in Trackday Trophy., Sam said. “He followed it up with a virtuoso drive in the wet at Brands Hatch to finish third again, overcoming the conditions to come home as the only RWD car even on the lead lap.

It’s plain that Rob and I can make a winning combination at the ‘wheel of the E36, so there’s only one thing to do in 2021. Try to take a championship title.”

But that’s not all that 2021 holds for us. We want to create more new racing drivers and experience more thrilling competition – so there’s already a raft of guest outings scheduled, with more still to follow.

Matt Gilby has known this car even longer than I have, from its humble beginnings as an ageing repmobile. He’s watched the transformation, and finally gets to race the results at Donington in April.

Any opportunity to race the hallowed Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit is rare, never mind one where an outright victory is possible. Rob Dowsett didn’t hesitate and seized the chance to experience everything his home circuit has to offer.

Jonathan Pascall tried his hand in the E36 on a track day at Donington last year, and found thrill and learning in equal measure in the car’s ever-stretching performance. He will become the eighth driver to make their racing début with us, racing at Silverstone in May.
